In my twisted head, I've begun using the term to denote someone who I believe to be a shame to Pinoys everywhere. The Pinoy Mudblood. A Filipino who has gone to great lenghts in order to put his ancestry, his past, his homeland to shame.
What makes a Pinoy Mudblood? A) A Filipino who thinks that his country is a "hellhole", and that by saying so and by forcing his friends to believe that he's right, he therefore makes himself "cool". B) A Filipino who searches for jobs in other countries because to him a job elsewhere must be better than a job here. "You work in the Philippines? That sucks!! Me, I work abroad, look how awesome and rich I am!" C) A Filipino living abroad who is ashamed to admit that he is a Filipino. "I'm not a Filipino, I know people who live there though..." D) A Filipino who marries someone of a different race because she believes that it will elevate her social status. "My son is half-German, he's so handsome! He would've been ugly if his father is Filipino."
Now don't get me wrong. I don't hate anyone else of a different race or someone of mixed race. In fact, I got lots of friends who are of mixed race. Some of them are actually proud of being Pinoys or half-Pinoys. And seeing how much love they have for this country, it is appaling to see that those Filipinos, who actually LOOK like Filipinos, are those who doesn't seem to show any love for their country at all!
'Course some might shoot me down for talking about Filipino pride while writing in English and talking about Harry Potter in the same post. Well so what? Talking in English doesn't stop me from loving things that are Pinoy. And I can bet that I know more about shows like "Agila" and "Anna Luna" than you. And that these shows are more entertaining and more socially relevant than shows like, say, "Desperate Housewives".
Disappointing as it is, there isn't really anything I can do about it. Unless I can make Manny Pacquiao win a boxing match everyday, you can't really expect your regular Filipino Mudblood to admit that he is a "Filipino". But then again, I can just play with the idea in my head that I am cursing these mudbloods with this spell:

To oblivion with the likes of you!
