Mankind has always known that there is something magical in music. I have always wondered at this myself and for the longest time couldn't put my finger on it.
And so for a couple of days, I had been given the wonderful opportunity to do some musical arrangements which I found to be quite fun and really invigorating. I think I'm gonna turn this into my new hobby. Maybe I won't make a profit out of it yet (which I think would utterly destroy the beauty of it anyway). But who knows? For now, I just wanna have fun and relish the feeling of the moment.
It was while I was staring at the notes and the staves when the idea hit me: There I was, unknowingly setting sounds in motion within the framework of time undying. And akin to a painter; my notes are my colors, and time, represented by the usually taken-for-granted staves, is my very own canvas. No doubt they say music is an immortal thing.
Yes folks, I just had another WTF moment. And this one took twenty and more years in the making.

I always believed in your talent, my friend. And sometimes I wonder why you let it slip into dormancy. I always think if I had a talent such as yours, I would probably have had written a gazillion songs by now. Thank God you've rediscovered your passion for it.
Thanks! Well what can I say? Sometimes things just take a different turn from what you intend.
Right now, I'm just trying to find more inspirations and see where else I can turn the creative juices to. I'm kinda looking into modern Filipino music (excluding the yucky Wowowee kind) but anything ethereal and relaxing at the same time might also do. Sarah Maclachlan maybe?
Sometimes things just take a different turn from what you intend. --> I have a love-and-hate relationship with this truth.
But going back to music, here are some suggestions.
Ethereal - Sarah McLachlan, Jeff Buckley, (of course) Gregorian, Annie Lennox
Haunting/depressing - Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Alice in Chains
Technical - Joss Stone (hands-down vocals), Dave Matthews Band (technical at least sa drum part), Dream Theater (maybe too noisy for you)
Current favorites - Vienna Teng, Joe Satriani
I've been wanting to listen to Gregorian (back when CDs are still the thing) but I always keep forgetting. =P
Thanks for the list! Well, at least you spare me the trouble of having to make one. lol
So now a listening list to add to my reading list. *grumbles*
